In the absence of posterior capsule support, there are several ways to implant an intraocular lens (IOL) to correct aphakia. These include sutured scleral fixation, angle-supported anterior chamber IOLs, and anterior chamber or retropupillary iris-claw IOLs.Studies have established that implantation of the Artisan iris-claw IOL (Ophtec BV) is an effective method for correcting aphakia, with advantages such as easy placement, good visual outcomes, and few complications.
