VIP duty: Kerela doctors face harassment, threaten to boycot
The bevy of VIPs who are flying to Kerala for election campaign has become a harassment for the government doctors. Following the harassment faced the doctors have issued a warning to the government that they will boycott the VIP duties. The doctors who are forced to accompany the VIPs are not given food and accommodation while accompanying them. Even they are asked to report for duty at the last minute on just verbal orders. "We have informed the health secretary and director of health services that unless there is a written order from the general administration department of the government the doctors will not join the VIP duty here after,'' said Dr A K Raoof general secretary of Kerala Government Medical Officers Association (KGMOA).
