Wish You A Happy National Doctor's Day Salute to the Real Heroes
If we did not recognize the importance of doctors before, we are certainly learning just how much they contribute to society, amid the coronavirus pandemic.
While the world is self-isolating themselves, it is the doctors who are constantly fighting for the lives of people who have been infected with the deadly virus. It has never been more important than ever to appreciate the efforts that doctors make. Doctors are truly the greatest heroes, of not just the present but of all time.
So, it is only fair that doctors have a day to themselves. Here, we would like to give heartiest thanks to our 2,00,000+ PlexusMD doctors & all the other doctors around the world on this doctor’s day for being the strongest pillar. Happy Doctor’s Day!
India celebrates National Doctor’s Day on July 1 each year, in honor of the birth and death anniversary of the great physician and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. Since then India has grown by leaps and bounds in the medical field, not just to further Dr. B.C. Roy’s work but also with new and innovative techniques.
This day serves to show gratitude to all those who have selflessly aided in times of need and tirelessly worked for the health of their patients.
Although the Health Care Workers (HCW) is at the forefront in the battle of COVID-19 pandemic, they are facing several challenges in delivering their duties.
~ Shortages of Personal Protective Equipments: Till 1st March, the country had a negligible amount of PPE production, due to which health care facilities were facing shortages. But now, India is producing over 4.5 lakh Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) suits daily, as announced by Union Minister Smriti Irani on 18th May.
~ Long working hours: It is becoming apparent from the reports from across the world that the long duty hours of the HCW is a major risk factor for them to acquire infection.
~ Violence against HCW: It is highly disturbing and demoralizing to see the HCW on duty are facing violence against them from some irresponsible public. Thankfully, the government introduced the Epidemic Diseases (Amendment) Ordinance, 2020, which aims to protect health workers from violence. Any violence against health workers may now bring steep fines and even imprisonments of up to seven years.
~ And Not to forget the increased risk of infection they put themselves through.
Every doctor has his inspiring, sacrificing & heartbreaking stories. With that in mind, and in no particular order, here are a few inspiring and at the same time heartbreaking stories of medical heroes:
We take this opportunity to convey our sincere gratitude to you all, the Doctors of India who are keeping the country beating and running! We wish every doctor a very Happy Doctor's Day and a successful and wonderful year ahead...
