With Delhi Police's effort, 5.8 km Green Corridor was create
The Delhi Police on Thursday created a green corridor from Palam Technical Airport to RR Hospital for transportation of an organ. Thanks to the green corridor, the ambulance was able to transport an organ in time. The corridor was of a distance of 5.8 km which was covered in 5-10 minutes.

What is a Green Corridor?
Green corridor refers to a special road route that enables harvested organs meant for transplants to reach hospitals in time. The signals are manually operated, to avoid red lights and traffic to ensure that the ambulance reaches as soon as possible.

The corridor was made after the request made to the DCP, New Delhi, who designated Dwarka ACP Vijay Pal Singh Tomar, to supervise and coordinate the traffic movement. The organ was donated by a hospital in Chandigarh.
