4-year-old Lara Waleed of Yemen was saved from becoming visually challenged as a result of a rare congenital eye disease at a Bengaluru eye hospital. Lara had corneo lenticular adhesion syndrome since birth, which stuck her iris and lens to each other with cataract obstructing vision. She also developed secondary glaucoma due to the syndrome. She had undergone a series of surgeries but that had not got her vision corrected. Through multiple interventions, the doctors were also able to prevent her eye tissues from shrinking which is very common with this condition.
