Can hyperkalemia cause inverted P waves in ecg?
93yr old man with persistent hyperkalemia 7 6.7 6.3 6.1 5.7. creat is normal. abg is normal. pt has discharge from left lateral malleolus which showed growth of MRSA. creat is normal. his ecg showed P wave inversion in leads II III aVF. wat could be the cause. is hyperkalemia a cause of inverted P waves?

Hyperkalemia can predisposed formation of ectopics in heart , specifically atria - if an ectopic is formed it can cause depolarisation of atria and then the AVN , where the impulse can travel back to SAN retrogradely and present as a inverted PWave. But this is just a hypothesis, more details about the ECG are needed.
