Acne vulgaris, Causes- propionibacterium acne, increase androgen production (pcos) , inflammation,certain drugs (isoniazid, phenytoin), corticosteroids (Steroid acne), use of cosmetics that causes pilosebaceous duct occlusion. Treatment-treat the cause if any . treatment also depends upon skin lesion (inflammatory, non inflammatory). For mild type-topical treatment with benzoyl peroxide,clindamycin may help. for moderate and severe type, oral antibiotics (azithromycin), topical retinoid- isotretinoin, in addition to topical (benzoyl peroxide or clindamycin) improve acne. sometimes also needed oral retinoid-isotretinoin and antiandrogen drugs. For prevention - those who were oily skin- clean your face 6 times daily, reduce obesity and maintain your BMI, not use any cosmetics that causes pilosebaceous duct obstruction(specially- Fair and lovely)....
