I am a practising psychiatrist.recently a patients husband came to our hospital with a gang of seven, and asked for dischage card of his wife admitted in 2012. no op chit or relevant records brought. if such problem comes what is the legal solution to such problem?

As per MCI Regulation 2002, every doctor must maintain medical records of their patients for at least 3 years from the date of starting treatment. As per DGHS guidelines for central government hospitals, records by hospitals must be maintained for 10 years.
