Six doctors found working full-time in more than one college
The Medical Council of India (MCI) has come down heavily on six errant doctors in Maharashtra who were found working as full-time teachers in more than one medical college in different districts at the same time. Two of these doctors were found working full-time in two hospitals located in different states altogether, making it impossible to teach in both simultaneously.
The six senior doctors have now been suspended for a period of six months to a year after MCI directed Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) to investigate the matter and take action. “We found out that several of these doctors were teaching in one government and one private medical college. MCI found their names during manual inspection and issued orders,” said interim administrator of MMC, Dr Abhay Chawdhary....
